Applying innovative tools from human factors, ergonomics and cognitive systems engineering, an emphasis is placed upon improving system capability, efficiency and safety.
System development is considered more than training, product development, or Human Machine Interface (HMI) design. A holistic approach is taken, considering the functional, structural, social, and physical aspect of the domain in question. By expanding the analysis beyond the individual and subsystem to consider the team, organisation and the wider domain, additional possibilities for system optimisation are exposed – leading to flexible systems, equipped to cope with complex dynamic environments.
